Kerry Smith

Kerry's journey in the performing arts began at the Bull Alley Theatre Training Company in Dublin, where she honed her skills and earned her Diploma, Associate, and Licentiate in Speech and Drama, all with Honors. Her passion led her to establish the 'Spotlight Academy of Theatre Arts' in Arklow, which she successfully ran for five years. Following her adventures in Australia and the start of her family, Kerry, alongside her husband Scott, founded Spotlight Studios in Wicklow. This endeavour aimed to create a vibrant community space for the arts, which has flourished into a hub of creativity with a plethora of classes, events, and gatherings.

Throughout her career, Kerry has graced stages in Ireland, the UK, and Australia, earning accolades such as 'International Festival Winners' for her role in 'The Mikado' and several Finlay Awards for 'Fiddler on the Roof'. Her directorial and choreographic talents have brought to life numerous productions, including award-winning shows and panto's. Kerry's dedication to education is evident in her 16 years of teaching the Irish Board of Speech and Drama/Musical Theatre syllabus, achieving a stellar record of Honors and Distinctions.

Kerry's contributions to the arts extend to advertisements and TV, with a notable appearance in the cherished Woodies Christmas advert alongside her children, Hunter and Summer. At the heart of her journey is a deep appreciation for her team and students at Spotlight Studios, as she looks forward to continuing this enchanting voyage in the performing arts.
